M10 coach bolts with nuts, 40mm to 300mm, bright zinc plated. Boxes of 50 (up to 110mm), 25 (130mm and over). The usual size for fence posts, gates and sleeper walls.
Cup square hex bolts, also called coach bolts or carriage bolts, are the standard way to bolt timbers together: fence posts to rails, gate hangings, sleeper retaining walls, timber frames and pergolas. The square under the domed head bites into the timber so the bolt cannot spin while the nut is tightened. Bright zinc plated (BZP). Supplied with hex nuts.
Bolt length should be the combined timber thickness plus about 15mm for washer and nut.
