The nominal size of 25 x 225mm refers to the sawn size before planing. The actual finished size is approximately 20-21mm x 219-220mm. Always work from the finished size when planning joints, housings or fitting to existing work.
This is untreated PAR timber intended for interior joinery and finishing applications. It is not suitable for outdoor or exposed use without additional treatment. For exterior applications a pre-treated timber should be specified.
Yes. PAR timber arrives with a smooth, clean surface ready to accept paint, stain or varnish directly. No sanding or surface preparation is required before applying a finish.
The 225mm width eliminates the need to join two narrower boards together, saving time on site and producing a cleaner, seamless result. For wide stair treads, deep window boards and premium joinery work a single wide board is always preferable where the width allows.
